  • SYNOPSIS

They are like two peas in a pod. Menecma is the definition of “people who look very much alike”.

In a mix of comedy and suspense written by Bráulio Mantovani, a man edits a documentary about his father, a famous theater actor who has passed away. From that moment on a crazy game of mirrors begins.

Doubles of dead relatives take part of the plot, and people can’t tell who from whom anymore. Suspicion, uncertainty and ambiguities hunt the characters until the end of the play.

    History

The director Laís Bodanzky, who was warmly welcomed by the cast of this show, makes good use of Bráulio Mantovani’s text – irreverent as never before. The history is quite surreal and brings good shares of humor, metalanguage, and puns. The name of the play, to start with, is a great tongue twister.

  • SYNOPSIS

With a text of the renowned screenplay writer Kenneth Lonergan, Our Youth has brought to the stages the struggles of three young people who are about to start their adulthood.
The cast gives the audience different dimensions of the same story: Youngsters can relate to the story, they feel understood; adults relive with a certain nostalgia, that time that’s not coming back. One way or another, everybody is sure about one thing: This is our youth and no one can’t take it away from us.

    History

As having started her career in the theaters, at Antunes Filho’s CPT, Laís Bodanzky had an old dream: directing a play. She has finally found the perfect opportunity to make this dream come true with Our Youth.

The director had already had wide experience at TV and movie screens. That’s why it’s easy no notice the proximity of this play’s language with the movies – where the main focus is on the acting – it was decisive for the choice of the cast. It was also decisive for Paulo Vilhena, an actor who revealed a much more mature aspect of his personality during the editing of the play. Our youth was so successful that was nominated in two categories at the Shell Awards.
